A new world for new generations

The modern world is fast like lightning, and the Network, which brings together and unites us all, has changed old ways of life, leaving no time to unnecessary thinking and philosophizing.

Even this very minute the world is not standing still: new things are born, sophisticated theories are developed, technologies are improved, those which yesterday seemed to be something surreal and tomorrow – quite possibly – will lose relevance and become the past.

And it is youth that moves the world forward: young researchers, full of enthusiasm, strength and inspiration, scientists who yesterday sat on a student bench, head in nurturing terms of conquering the world, improving it and extending the possibilities.

In every country around the globe there are young dreamers, but also there are some among them who really is able to change things for the better. So we, teachers of high school, you should watch closely so as not to overlook young talents who within a few decades, or perhaps a few years will become the centre of attention of the whole world. Student conferences, seminars and symposiums are a great chance to get the scientific community acquainted with the work of beginners, and a possibility for students to demonstrate what they have learned at the university, and what they can contribute to life of their university and country.

And Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University is no exception here, which annually holds traditional conferences and competitions for students.

In late March – early April in the walls of our KHNAHU housed the representatives of multiple academic institutions, who came to participate in International Student Scientific Conference "Language identity in the multicultural world".

It's no secret that the conference, held by teachers of faculty for foreign citizens, is truly multinational congregation, because the faculty educates representatives of North and Central Africa, Asia and Europe, but this year the geography of participants was extremely broad. Among the speakers who shared their first achievements in science were students from Morocco, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Nigeria, Tunisia, Iraq, Iran, Congo, Lebanon, Zimbabwe, Libya, Sudan, Israel, Egypt, Mongolia, India, China, Transnistria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and more than exotic Botswana. Besides students of KHNAHU there were participants of other universities of Kharkiv and Ukraine. Special attention was given to student reports from the United States (Texas A & M University-Commerce) and Canada (The University of Toronto), and we plan to deepen scientific cooperation with these countries in the nearest future!

For foreign students studying in Ukraine scientific conference is a chance of  acquiring the skills in scientific investigation: finding, processing and presentation of oral and written scientific information in the language of studies, and synthesis of fundamental / economic disciplines and humanities helps build fully developed personality of a new generation.

Indeed, the participants, guests and supervisors of young speakers were able to verify firsthand that before them the new generation of boys and girls was being born. They are now just beginning to take the first steps in science, a little unsure, a little timid, but later on these students will build the future of the world: the world of mutual support, mutual aid, a world seeking peace, not conflict, revolution of spirit, not conservative seizure of the past.
