New horizons of cooperation

Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University certainly has something to be proud of in the area of ​​international contacts. Students and teachers of the university are educated and trained in Europe. On the other hand, young people from different countries each year join the ranks of KHNAHU students not only to get higher education, but also to become among our the best graduates.

A new possibility for cooperation with a broad perspective has been discovered recently when the delegation of graduates from the University of Texas (USA) led by their supervisor Professor Robert Rodriguez arrived to participate in the annual student scientific conference "Language identity in a multicultural world" held by the Department of Philology. Of course, the desire of American students (Sarah Hayes, Tyler Henderson, Ashley Cotton and Ricardo Garcia) to participate in the conference in Ukraine is quite understandable and justified: they are future specialists of political science studying political situation in Eastern Europe during the last decades, in particular, in Ukraine.

School of cases

"School of cases" is a set of works consisting of the complex of interactive vocabulary and grammar presentations. The complex includes: 1) lexical and grammatical presentation (LGP) on prepositional-case system of the Russian language, which is a computer-based training program designed for the introduction and practicing of new grammatical material, and is used as multimedia support for Russian lessons; 2) guidelines for teachers on the use of LGP on the lessons of Russian as Foreign describing the optimal sequence of teacher’s actions in the course of each presentation.

Lexico-grammatical presentations are created in Microsoft Office PowerPoint environment, making it uncomplicated to use, available to any teacher....

Club of communication and games under the title «Ça va?»

Club of communication and games under the title «Ça va?»  is the newest initiative of the Chair of Philology and the department of foreign students’ education. The creation of the club is connected with a positive dynamic growth in the number of foreign students who choose our university for further professional training and adaptation to the Ukrainian society. The club provides an in-depth linguistic integration of students on the basis of modeling everyday socio-cultural situations, and makes it possible to learn the basics of stress communication, psychological characteristics of successful understanding between the foreign students and residents of the city, makes it possible to obtain a more complete picture in the standards  of the so0called "live" speech progressively gaining a sense of the language at the level close to that of a native speaker...

International scientific-methodical seminar "The newest technologies in teaching languages to foreign students"

Traditionally, in the middle of February (15-16, 02.2018), the International Scientific and Methodological Seminar "The Latest Technologies in Teaching Languages ​​to Foreign Students" was organized by the Philology Department of the Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University.

The presentations of the seminar participants were included in the plenary session and in the work of the discussion platforms. In contrast to previous years, in addition to traditional reports or messages in the format of an ordinary conference, a series of master classes on topical issues of the methodology of teaching languages ​​to foreign students using the latest author's developments and technologies were held...

Our experience is studied

It is no secret that the educational materials, computer programs and other research elements, made by the teachers and staff of the Department of Philology, are popular among colleagues from other Ukrainian universities and even abroad. In recent years, in spite of the difficulties and problems that exist in the country, foreign partners, both permanent and potential, have shown great interest in the work of our faculty in general and the Department of Philology in particular.

E.g. this month there have been several master classes and open lessons with the use of modern multimedia technology. Thus, on February 4, sen. lecturer of the Department of Philology, N.O. Opryshko held presentation for students of her group T-5 on the topic "The genitive of nouns"...
